We have found a number of helpful tools and aids to support the gardener and composter that are efficient and cost effective in working toward a low-impact and eco-friendly way of gardening. For example, using tools powered by electricity instead of gasoline. Electrical tool are typically less expensive, have lower maintenance, produce no fumes from gasoline and oil while running quieter. Among electrical tools, consider using an extension cord where practical rather than battery operated tools. Batters require the use of certain metals and chemicals and unfortunately when discarded can end up in our landfills.
